National park and World culture:

La Laguna: San Cristobal de la Laguna started the 16th Century as the capital of the island and was founded by Fernandez de Lugo. Your typical Spanish colonial architecture has been preserved to this day. Today it's the university town of the island and was made a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Most certainly worth a visit.

Spains highest mountain: Mount Teide 3718 m above sea level, towering a total of 7000 m total off the oceanic bed.

Not only the highest mountain in Spain, but throughout the Atlantic region and is the 3rd highest volcano in the world.

Mount Teide National Park (18,990 hectares) was established in 1954 and became a world heritage site in July 2007.

Protected scenic park: Included here are also the Anaga massif in the east and the Teno massif to the west of the island. A rich network of trails invite nature lovers to go hiking.
